Rob, who happens to be a professional illustrator, also used his Instagram to unveil the couple’s pregnancy to the world.

‘We have a beautiful little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel like this,’ captioned the artist, who doubles as a pediatric nurse.

Putting his artistry to use, Rob conjured up a surrealist drawing of how he envisions their unborn child looks inside the surrogate’s womb.

The couple, who are currently residing in Salt Lake City, Utah, wed back in 2007.

Back in 2019, Tan openly expressed his desire ‘to be a father’ someday, admitting that it has been a dream of his for sometime.

‘I’ve wanted children since I was 19, 20,’ he told host Terry Gross in an interview with Fresh Air. ‘If I’d had a stable relationship at that time, I would have desperately tried to have children.’

Foreshadowing his 2021 announcement, Tan stressed to the interviewer that ‘surrogacy for gay men costs a heck of a lot.’

He also spoke fondly of his ‘blissful’ relationship with husband Rob, whom he had been married to for 11 years at the time of his Fresh Air appearance in 2019.

France famously joined the highly successful Queer Eye reboot in 2018, alongside Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, and Bobby Berk.

The original version of the series, which also aimed to revamp the lives of guests with the help of the Fab 5’s expertise, first premiered in 2003 and aired on Bravo for four years.

Unlike its reboot, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy paired the hosts with guests who were ‘straight men,’ whereas Queer Eye pairs hosts with people of all genders and belief systems looking to positively upend their current life/lifestyle.
